RWA National Conference
August 3, 2010

Returned from the RWA National Conference in Orlando last Sunday. The Swan Resort was fabulous, and my roomie, Alicia McCalla (YA author) and I had a blast. Spent quality time with one critique partner, Elaine Burroughs (author of Women’s Fiction) while Terry, the third partner held down the home front. I attended numerous and varied workshops and loved most of them.

Favorite moments included Nora Robert’s Keynote Speech at lunch on Thursday. What an amazing woman and author! And the Golden Heart and RITA awards ceremony on Saturday night. The Disney songs and references just made it better and the acceptance speeches were a hoot!

Now after numerous agent and editor panels, it’s time to start “target querying” again. And to get back to work on Compromising the Captain, book two of the Colonel’s Daughters series.

Rejected, but helpful...
January 23, 2009

Received a long and helpful rejection letter from the more than kind Harlequin editor. And actually the good side to a first rejection? Makes me eligible for RWA's PRO designation. I will send in the letter and my manuscript and receive a pin and entrance into the network that is PRO.

Excited to be sending my first requested partial of A Major Seduction to the Senior Editor at Harlequin. I pitched to her at the agent/editor appointments at M&M Conference 2008. It was a terrific three dats, so many great workshops, presenters and amazing networking for romance writers. The Maggie awards were inspirational and modivating.
